During the end times, it is written that individuals will seek to alter the Word of God and change what we know is the Truth, and seek to get us to believe it. This is the time that we are instructed to hold the Word of God close to our hearts and never forget or forsake what we know is the Truth.
We see this very thing taking place in the world today. How much sin is overlooked today to be "all-inclusive" with man and what we want, rather than following the teachings in the Bible and the Commands of God and Jesus?
The following Scriptures all discuss this very thing of keeping the Word close to our hearts, for point reference and studying:
Revelation 22:18-19 ESV I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
